Introduction

This project is part of the JOS Project. It is a free license and open source Java™-based operating system. It combines the jJOS kernel and decaf virtual machine.

Latest versions

Version 3b is complete. Beyond JJOS CVS, archive distributions for both binary and source are available in the mirror directory.

Builds

decaf 3b has the following builds:

• i386 builds. These are a self-contained boot images.
  • etherboot. This build is compatible with Etherboot.
  • grub This build is compatible with GRUB (Multiboot).
• Host builds. These builds enable us to test features more easily and depend upon another operating system.
  • linux. This build depends upon GNU/Linux.
  • win32. This build depends upon Microsoft Windows (95/98/ME, NT/2000/XP).
